| Sir Bobby Robson is one of the best loved and well respected coaches ...
But after his time with Newcastle United was aborted prematurely, there has to be doubts that he will ever return. Recently Robson has shown his resolve by overcoming brain surgery to remove a tumour and the iconic ex-manager will be back in his advisory role with the Republic of Ireland as soon as the doctors let him. Sir Bobby had become engulfed by the big characters in the St James' Park dressing room, discipline had become a problem and, with his contract due to expire at the end of 2004/05, chairman Freddy Shepherd took the step of sacking him just a few games into the campaign. Since he left the Magpies he has been linked with a number of jobs, including Sheffield Wednesday, West Bromwich Albion and Heart of Midlothian, but his age remains a concern for any club willing to consider his application.
Students speak out
Worse to acknowledge discipline is out of control, not only might we have to put control back into the teachers' hands, we might have to take it out of the educational establishment's hands and give YOU THE VOTER some control. And if you think the overlords at GAE are apoplectic over that prospect, imagine how their overlords at NEA would react. But until the day comes when we have REAL choice, the next best bet is to have order restored to the public schools and that means we MUST have discipline. We KNOW (and shame on you if you don't) who has been "front and center" on the school board in terms of discipline. And we KNOW who has taken on the status quo. (We would have had MILLIONS of more dollars in our pockets if we had voted them in sooner.) And we KNOW who has pandered to the irresponsible parents (Erika Davis: We can't remove chronically disruptive children from the classroom; were would they go?) And we KNOW who has stood up for responsible parents (Norreese Haynes: All children can learn AND behave, so if they choose to be a thug, they need to go! The parents who parent, and the children who behave deserve better.) Just like the masses finally rejected the Catholic Church for demonizing Galileo for EXPOSING the truth about the sun, ClayCo voters will reject Rod, Ericka and Elgart's "inquisition" and reject the demonizing of Norreese Haynes for bringing the sunlight that is THE best disinfectant for the mold and stench the Unholy Trinity is trying to bring to ClayCo.
The Most Annoying Moment For Homeschool Moms
Okay, there are several and I can only speak for myself. I was sitting with another hs mom. We were talking about how any time it comes up that we homeschool, we brace ourselves. The most popular response from strangers is "Oh, I could never do that. I don't have the patience." Speaking from experience, this is not the worst response. Yet it often leaves me thinking back to when my kids did try public school. I would cringe and often end up in battles with my kids, trying to get their homework done. Homeschool is not like that. Not for us anyhow. It's more about finding things that work, be it educational videos or hands-on training to learn a tricky subject; or kind of breezing through subjects they 'get' easily and have a full grasp on.
Financial Taxidermy - Lessons in Being Stuffed
The speculative fervor of 1999/2000 can be compared to the recent housing bubble of the US, which peaked in late 2005. Bad news did not seem to matter, no matter how bad or how loud it got. This is because bull markets are more often than not the result of a "Wall of Worry", where when anxiety about the future disappears, an end is usually not far behind. Bull Market has been Corralled: After the March 2000 peak in all broad market indices of North America, the bear market commenced. Bear markets are often referred to as "The Slope of Hope" where people "hope" for a return to the good days. Some people with money "think" they can control the market by purchasing a large chunk of shares in a particular stock. The stock market functions as a collective and when particular sectors are in a bear market, all stocks within those areas will follow suit.
Hughes: Bentley stays put
Blackburn Rovers manager Mark Hughes has dismissed speculation linking England midfielder David Bentley with a big-money move to Newcastle United. The 23-year-old winger is a reported target for new Magpies boss Kevin Keegan, but Hughes is keen to tie Bentley down to a new contract at Ewood Park. He told Sky Sports News: "David's situation is that he is signed as a Blackburn player. "There is always speculation about good players. David is a good player, but he won't be going anywhere. "He signed a new contract 12 months ago, but obviously in that time he has pushed for international call-ups and so we will reflect that. "But we have got a situation at Blackburn where the vast majority of our club is tied up for the next three years and David is one of those players.
Blog: Software Assassin's Creed Will Stealth Kill Your PC
Keyboard, mouse, optional controller (Xbox 360 Controller for Windows recommended) *Supported Video Cards at Time of Release: ATI RADEON X1300-1950 / HD 2000 / 3000 series NVIDIA GeForce 6600-6800 / 7 / 8 / 9 series Laptop versions of these cards may work but are NOT supported. These chipsets are the only ones that will run this game. NOTICE: This game contains technology intended to prevent copying that may conflict with some disc and virtual drives. Ouch. Something is definitely wrong here. While I won't pretend to know all the dirty details behind porting Xbox 360/PS3 to the PC, and I do realize that working with a closed system has some distinct optimization advantages, it's pretty hard to swallow that the PC version of Assassin's Creed needs 2GB of RAM and 256MB of VRAM to do what the consoles did with 512MB total for both.
Toyota’s answer to the green car
While Toyota cautiously tests its prototypes, some zealous Prius owners are already clamoring for plug-ins, and paying aftermarket companies $15,000 or more to retrofit their cars as plug-ins. Meanwhile, smaller niche companies like California startups Tesla Motors and Fisker Automotive – which is showing a plug-in sports car in Detroit – are rushing to market with premium plug-ins whose higher sticker price will help them to recoup initial costs. GM says it wants to sell the Volt by 2010, but is struggling to develop a car with a 40-mile pure electric range – the magic number, approximating an average commute, which it says will draw a critical mass of drivers into the cars. Unlike Toyota, GM is not yet inviting journalists for test drives. Jon Lauckner, the company's head of alternative-fuel vehicles, described 2010 to me as “the stretch objective." Toyota is also looking to improve the car's capabilities, including its all-electric range, so that it hits the right sweet spot with customers.
Guardsmen on smuggling charges
Sounds like the start of a stand up comedy routine. But it's no joke. Because this is our country we're talking about; and the three front runners for the Democratic party nomination really are an African American, a woman and a white "son of the south."As a black woman, I find it quite amazing that, in a year when many thought the big news would be Hillary's very real chance to become the first female president, Barack has entered the scene to give her a run for her money and for a place in history.Of course, both candidates do not want you to vote on the basis of race or gender. But there's that third fella -- the one who stands to benefit from all the recent bickering between the front runners: John Edwards. While the other two square off over "fairy tales" and the relative legacies of Dr.
