Dirty 1.1.2 iPhone jailbreak gains activation, PPC support

Remember that dirty 1.1.2 iPhone jailbreak that debuted from conceited software last week? Well it hasn't lost any of its clunk, but it has gained a handful of new features and support to let even more of you get your jailbreak on.

According to TUAW (as conceited software's site is painfully low on details), this new jailbreak version gains activation (so iPhones can work non-activated), YouTube support, and opens the doors for PowerPC owners. Plenty of caveats and workarounds still exist in this jailbreak though, and it still requires a downgrade to 1.1.1 if you already stepped up to 1.1.2. We'll let you know when the 1.1.2 jailbreak reaches one-click territory, though with the way things are going, we'll probably be letting you know a few minutes later that 1.1.3 sends jailbreakers back to the drawing board.

Spitzer appears willing to compromise with lawmakers

But a year after that pent-up resentment evolved into one of New York's most intransigent political gridlocks and a loss of the governor's popular and political clout, a new Spitzer may be emerging.

In his two major presentations of this year -- the State of the State address Jan. 9 and his budget proposal last Tuesday -- Spitzer took great effort to recognize, thank and even try to joke with lawmakers in both houses and both parties. Internally, Spitzer is even considering naming a Hudson River park for Pataki, the Republican on whose watch Spitzer's inaugural speech compared New York to Rip Van Winkle.

In the State of the State address, he ignored snickering senators and their heckling to single out several Republicans -- even when their colleagues derided them for getting Spitzer's favor with laughs and a "There goes your re-election!"

But Spitzer, uncharacteristically, didn't fight back.

Don't vote for socialism

Many want government interference in climate control, energy production, auto manufacturing. The list goes on. Hillary Clinton has a goal to limit "talk radio." The other major Democratic candidates have the same kind of ideas in their heads.
